RIBBON TOOTH has been officially selected for the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival 2017. The Festival kicks off with screenings at the Lincoln Centre and the Tribeca Arte Institute in new york. These will be followed by a world tour that includes screenings in Portugal, Canada, the U.K. and Mozambique.

IDFA Bertha Fund comes on Board
We are very happy to announce that The Sound of Masks was selected as one of the projects receiving support from the IDFA Bertha Fund. For the IBF Classic selection round, the fund considered 265 projects from more than 65 different countries. In total, an amount of €126,500 was granted to 11 projects. The committee selected five projects for script and project development and six projects for production and post-production.

THE TEAM ATTENDS THE IDFA ACADEMY AND THE IDFA FORUM
The team attended the IDFA Academy and IDFA Forum in November 2014, as part of the IDFA award they received in Durban for the most promising documentary. They had the most amazing time making contacts, attending workshops and masterclasses from some of the most prominent documentary film directors in the world and watching a lot of inspirational films.
hot docs blue ice fund comes on board
We are ecstatic to announce that The Sound of Masks was selected as one of the projects receiving support from the Hot Docs Blue Ice Fund. Nine African film projects have been chosen to receive a total of $118,000 in development, production and completion grants from the Hot Docs-Blue Ice Group Documentary Fund in its fourth round of disbursements. The support includes an invitation to the 2015 Hot Docs Festival in Toronto as well as an invitation to the Durban Film Mart 2015, where the project proved successful already with the IDFA Award for Most Promising Pitch in 2014.

the sound of masks secures NFVF support
Following on from the successful pitch at the Durban International Film Mart, the team was excited to receive development funding from the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa. This support will enable the team to move forward with the development stage and do more research and filming before principal photography begins in 2015.
